As a grad student at Georgetown, I took a winter road trip from DC to NYC to visit some fellow UChicago friends for the weekend. First stop: Moran's bar at the World Financial Center. As I bored one of my old friends with a tale of the Dead show I'd been to the night before, the cute suit on the stool next to me swiveled in my direction and said, in his adorable New Jersey accent, "I love the Dead. What was the set list?" And that was that: married 25 years now, we've lived in NY, London, AZ and now back in Chicago with 2 grown kids and a lifetime of good music and adventure.
