Zephora

June, 2003

I attended a poetry workshop for months on end, because I like poetry and I was not planning on meeting anyone. But it occurred to me that men in the workshop who were not gay, fat, old or non-symmetric might actually be just simply strange. So I wasn't interested in any of the men in that workshop. But they were interested in me. I should say 'he' because there was only one passable man who was neither too squat, too weight-challenged, too indefinably strange, too whatever... and he was the guy who expressed an interest in me. Maybe because I was the female equivalent of the normal guy I didn't think went to poetry workshops. Anyhow, he turned out to be entirely normal.
